We went for a rad members ride last month!
We drove through some mist and a light sprinkle of rain to our rendezvous point at the Engen garage on the N2, where we enjoyed surprisingly expensive hot chocolates to warm our hands.
From there we hit the N2 towards Gordan’s Bay and made our first stop at The Grille Shack. It’s a fairly new spot but with loads of big tables it’s a perfect pitstop on a ride! Did I mention the dedicated bike parking? They know their audience!
We rode along the coast towards Bot River and took in some amazing scenery! Beautiful blue ocean, some bridge crossings and rocky mountains all around us, I’m sure everyone was smiling under their helmets!
Our next stop was the Elgin Railway market. You need to check it out, even if it’s just to appreciate the giant ceiling fans and the belt contraption that makes them spin. Like any good market there’s a wide selection of food but you GOTTA TRY THE FUDGE!
After the much needed sugar refuel, the group rode to Franscchoek via Theewaterskloof dam and made an obligatory stop on the bridge, and then over the pass, taking in more spectacular views and then down into Franschhoek!
Cape Town scenery never fails to impress and it’s always a blast to hang out with our rad group of members!
Thanks to our members Tony, JT, and Stephen for helping with planning the route and organising the ride!
